considerate contractors
scheme
The main purpose of the considerate
contractors scheme is to ensure that work carried
out by the construction industry is done so in a safely and
in a considerate manner causing as little distress to local
residents.
When construction or civil engineering work
is carried out on major roads or in local communities then
members of the public tend to get angry and complain. The
main objective of the considerate contractors scheme is to
avoid this situation as far as humanly possible and that is
where ActionLines
step in. We act as a helpline on behalf of the construction
industry and give information and support to both sides and
help to calm situations down before they get out of hand.
Through our experience of the considerate contractors scheme
we have found that in the majority of cases members of the
public feel much more at ease once a situation has been explained
to them properly and are less likely to take a complaint any
further.

Our 24/7 Community Relations Helplines
are now essential for
'Section 61' applications, as councils
insist that developers are publicly accountable when work is
taking place. |
